I had a sweet experience a few days after I got to Lia's. I had the children over at their neighborhood park and I saw a darling young mom and her three little girls coming to the park from the opposite direction. She said "hi" after awhile, that she knew Lia from church and that she read my blog. I immediately loved her (and not just because she read my blog!)But, because I was a young mom once with little girls,and I so admire and love these young moms and their courage and goodness and don't forget,......I still feel young inside even though my body isn't co-operating! So, Jennifer, thank-you for being my new friend. That's one fun thing about blogging, you meet people you would never have been blessed to before.

Annika was trying to get Anthony to co-operate yesterday and she said, " You have the Holy Ghost but, you never listen to him!"

James is like a woman with a chocolate fetish. He sat at the table yesterday and just kept saying over and over again....."chocolate, chocolate" in a very stern voice. We opened a package of chocolate chips to accommodate him. Or I should say Grandma opened it. Oh, and he called me Grandma yesterday for the first time, it's been Grandpa up until now.

I'm going to sew a baptism dress today. I consider it a privilege to make the girls baptism dresses, but, I'm a procrastinator! Have a nice day and let me know what you were up to today.

    I'm with James on the chocolate kick! I've made chocolate covered strawberries this week, and something I like to call brownie bon bons... But I like the creating process too. No sitting at the table demanding it, maybe he'll learn that too. Can't wait to see you in a couple days!

 I've always had a bird feeder, for years now. They bring alot of joy to me, nature so up close and personal. Now that we don't have any pets, we've loved having our bird feeders up again. We have this one tree out back and we have a little of everything for them. A little bird bath, three feeders and a suet feeder. There's usually ten to twenty birds in the tree at all times. Lots of beautiful finches, lots of yard birds, lots of black birds (who are quite noisy) red wing black birds and yellow headed black birds. We finally identified one that we couldn't figure out and its a Evening Grosbeak. Some come and we never see them again, just passing through. But, it's our little obsession right now, gives me something to do every morning. But, dang those birds are eating us out of house and home!

all is well

My daughter Becky should be home from the hospital soon, her surgery went well. Next the mourning for what was and will never be again, she had a lot of good cries last night. They weighed the breast and it was seven and a half pounds! I knew it was close to ten. Like she said jokingly she was looking forward to getting "alot off her chest". When I talked to her on the phone this morning I asked her how in the world did she ever get anything done with a two year old and 5mon. old! I did manage to get us all clean and fed by eleven. Is that good? And to think I raised six! Todays is Becky's Abbie's birthday, we hope to go to the movies this afternoon. I guess on the way home from the hospital they are picking up a new kitty for the children. They had promised them one when they moved in to their house, so how wonderful of them to realize what a good time it would be to bring one home. oh honey you shouldn't have

 chop, chop, chop were the sounds I woke up too yesterday. I've been hearing those sounds alot these last few weeks as my manly man has made hot sauce and salsa galore. But..............this morning it was different. I woke up to a beautiful bowl of tabbouleh...my favorite salad. The combination of the bulgar, parsley, cucumber and tomatoes just tickles my palet. My favorite part this time of the year are the pomegranate seeds, they add such color and flavor.(I really shouldn't be eating it but I chewed extra well ummm) Oooops a jar of grape juice just broke, manly man is canning....be right back. O.K. that's cleaned up and I'm heading out for a long overdue walk. It's a lovely day, blue skies and sun.
