oh, I love this photo


This is one of my many favorite pictures of grandchildren. It was taken by our daughter Sarah (family photographer), these are her two daughters Hannah & Lilly. And as she would say "pretty stinkin cute"! I found it amongst all my photos while spring cleaning.


I finally finished tonight. Yes! It's been a busy week so I haven't had alot of time.Now all those garbage bags are headed to the dump, full of stuff I never use.I'm getting to the age where I'm ready to live with less "stuff". It's just a nuisense. My next big project is the garage. My Manly Man is a pack rat and nothing has seen the light of day in there for 10yrs. The last time it was cleaned was when we did it for him for Father's Day. He'd come in and just glare at us, our youngest son told him "I'm lookin out for your stuff Dad". This time were renting one of those big dumpsters. Poor guy it's really hard on him.

    Very funny! When you're done there will you come over to my house in SLC as my husband is an electrician and likes to bring home "worthy" junk....ha ha ha. Like operating room lights, snow/ice makers that are as big as a small refrigerator (I'm sorry, that had to go). Love my operating room light to paint under. It's great but the hospital bed end tables weren't a hit with me until he put wood tops on them and I painted a Southwestern pattern on them in the '80's. By the way...going to Education Week in Provo? I might but have to wait to see when my granddaughter will be born in Baltimore. She's due in May.

    Ya I am getting ready to do our closet! you are right thou I also have been getting rid of things...but I still have to much! I shouldn't go to goodwill all the time...even my kids are getting tired of me bring things to them (they don't appreciate it don't know why I do it! ) Penny

 I've always had a bird feeder, for years now. They bring alot of joy to me, nature so up close and personal. Now that we don't have any pets, we've loved having our bird feeders up again. We have this one tree out back and we have a little of everything for them. A little bird bath, three feeders and a suet feeder. There's usually ten to twenty birds in the tree at all times. Lots of beautiful finches, lots of yard birds, lots of black birds (who are quite noisy) red wing black birds and yellow headed black birds. We finally identified one that we couldn't figure out and its a Evening Grosbeak. Some come and we never see them again, just passing through. But, it's our little obsession right now, gives me something to do every morning. But, dang those birds are eating us out of house and home!

oh honey you shouldn't have

 chop, chop, chop were the sounds I woke up too yesterday. I've been hearing those sounds alot these last few weeks as my manly man has made hot sauce and salsa galore. But..............this morning it was different. I woke up to a beautiful bowl of tabbouleh...my favorite salad. The combination of the bulgar, parsley, cucumber and tomatoes just tickles my palet. My favorite part this time of the year are the pomegranate seeds, they add such color and flavor.(I really shouldn't be eating it but I chewed extra well ummm) Oooops a jar of grape juice just broke, manly man is canning....be right back. O.K. that's cleaned up and I'm heading out for a long overdue walk. It's a lovely day, blue skies and sun.

all is well

My daughter Becky should be home from the hospital soon, her surgery went well. Next the mourning for what was and will never be again, she had a lot of good cries last night. They weighed the breast and it was seven and a half pounds! I knew it was close to ten. Like she said jokingly she was looking forward to getting "alot off her chest". When I talked to her on the phone this morning I asked her how in the world did she ever get anything done with a two year old and 5mon. old! I did manage to get us all clean and fed by eleven. Is that good? And to think I raised six! Todays is Becky's Abbie's birthday, we hope to go to the movies this afternoon. I guess on the way home from the hospital they are picking up a new kitty for the children. They had promised them one when they moved in to their house, so how wonderful of them to realize what a good time it would be to bring one home.
