still looking out.....

I'm still looking out but, now it's raining , and , cozy. Felt good enough to read yesterday and started a book I'v had by my bed for ages, it's called "The Olive Harvest" by Carol Drinkwater, A Memoir of Love, Old Trees, and Olive Oil.  I enjoyed the glimps into French culture, but , especially the love of the olive tree. My Manly Man and I had the opportunity a few years ago of going to Italy to help with the olive harvest. We followed the olives we picked and watched them pressed into olive oil , which , we got to bring home. Needless to say it was the vacation of a lifetime. How can you look at an olive tree, hundreds of years old , and not be taken away in its beauty and history.

  1. Miracle Oil, Linda. We get through litres every month. A thimble-full a day will have you back on your uppers in no time.

    Here's to good health, Cro.

  2. Lady Magnon went to Lynbrook School, Bethesda, Washington (?) when she was small. Sadly the school closed down. She also went to one called Westbrook.

Not your alma mater by any chance?

Wouldn't it be funny if you'd shared a desk!

  4. Linda, you are sooo nice to feature me on your blog! I appreciate it so much. Loved the picture you took out your backdoor(?). Looking out onto that great expanse of green. So gorgeous and looks like a paradise. We live right in the middle of the city but have a cabin in the Uintah mountains that's our little piece of heaven. Thank goodness for restful places, right?

  5. P. S. My husband and I were going to go to Italy last year to celebrate our 25th anniversary. I had to have back surgery instead. What a drag but someday in the future we're going to get there. Working in the olive groves? That must have been so wonderful!
