grandpa juice

Posted by PicasaIts so sweet when the grandchildren come over and ask for grandpa juice. Isn't this the prettiest grape juice you have ever seen! My Manly Mans dream was to have an arbor with grapes growing over it. He visited Russia a few times and was so impressed that every single family dwelling in the country had an arbor. So, his dream has come true. And when the children go home we always ask if their out of Grandpa juice. So , looking forward to summer and all it brings with it.

  1. I think you'll HAVE to give us the recipe for this Linda. And, of course, the method of preservation. It looks great. We have so many non-eating grapes that make great juice, and most get put on the compost. This could be the answer!

  2. Oooooh! This looks so wonderful! What kind of grapes do you use for this? They're so light in color.

  3. I'll have to ask Jim the name of them, we have a couple different varities. Last year they did great because of the wonderful summer we had, hoping for another this year! We juice them in a steamer, water in the bottom level, grapes on top, juice goes to the middle which is attatched to a hose that is clamped. When the juice is ready you unclamp it and put the juice straight into the jars and seal. Its a quick process. We add alittle sugar and water to taste.....look on line for a "steamer juicer". This way only the juiced grape ends up in the compost!
