let the fun begin!......

Well, actually the week didn't start that fun! Last night I was in bed reading and my Manly Man came in and calmly said, "I've got to go get Rachel and take her to the hospital". Rachel's our bee daughter that helps run the store with her dad, and she was over helping a woman get some swarms out of her tree . She took her veil off and a couple bees kissed her right next to her eye. Rachel found out she was allergic to bees about a year after the shop opened. Of course she had her epi pen with her and used it immediately, but , she needed more help and spent a few hours in the emergency room. Unfortunately she's thinking she might have to give up her favorite hobby, poor baby, she just loves her girls!

So, that's how our fun bee week started! Things have to be very well orchestrated. Supplier gets our order ready, were there to pick them up right after their caged, we drive straight through to get the bees home to their families. Were running two days late so EVERYONE had to be called and informed of the changed pick up date.

Oh, and I have to tell you what my dear Manly Man did for me. I actually feel alittle guilty, I really hadn't complained about it at all, but he got someone over Sat. to look at "baby". What a guy!

So the "bee" word this week is "bee not stressed" ....or don't talk to me!

  1. Oh dear. I guess this is what all bee-keepers dread. Hope she's OK.

  3. That's scary - I hope she's okay now. Occupational hazards come in all sorts.
