I took this picture a few years ago actually probably
three years ago.Our darling Scottish Highlander  cows
are so fun to watch. They have three different pastures
that they rotate through so we don't always have them
in our front yard. When the kids were here a few weeks
ago they got all excited (as did I)  to see the new babies
playing together out front. It's nice to have cows for
the children that we don't have to take care of!
It completes the idea that the children think we
have a farm. Even though we only have one acre I know it seems
to them it's more. Chickens, ducks , goats and cats seal the deal.

So many of them have told me they want to live on a farm
when they grow up......and I hope they can.

  1. It is sad to see but the small farms have been disappearing fom the landscape for decades now. Hopefully, the farmers have made good financial deals for their land.

Things change and not always for the better.

  2. This sounds a lot like chez moi. I look after my land that's directly around the house, and my neighbour Jean-Claude looks after the rest.

  3. The picture was taken right after Lucy was born. So cute! I wonder if my kids will still want to be farmers when they grow up.
