George

Cozy and James looking at the view.
Every since I was a girl I've wanted to visit George Washingtons home in Mt. Vernon, and yesterday I got too!
I've always been impressed with George Washingtons willingness to serve his country, his humanity and humility and that he saw what our country really needed by turning down the invitation to be king.

I felt it a privilege to be there.

James walking up to the threshing barn.
George was totally into his orchards, vegetable gardens and animals.

His sixteen sided barn.

A picture of the original barn made in the 1700's.

One of the slave cabins.
It was Texas hot out but we had a nice time!

  1. Barns have such an allure; those fences are pretty nice too (last pic).
