"The Wrinkle's"

You know how kids say the darnest things!
I remember whenever one of our
children would say something cute
we'd both look at each other
and say, "You need to write that in your
journal!"

So, I'm writing this in my journal before I
forget it.

Our youngest grandchild , Nora , came for a
visit this week-end. (with her family)
Nora (unfortunately) doesn't see
us enough to feel comfortable with us
holding her.(stranger danger)
So, as her mommy was fixing us a delicous
breakfast I was holding her facing away from me so she didn't know who was holding her. She did fine for awhile and then started crying.
Her big sister Britton said, "She must have seen the wrinkled hands and knew it wasn't her mommy." Oh, the openedness of children!

It reminded me of a book I used to read my children called "The Wrinkle's".
A story about some children visiting their
grandparents  whom they called the
wrinkle's!

Comments

  1. Nora will soon get to know and love the wrinkled hands that hold her so gently, just like big sister Britton does.

  2. I'm sure my kids are guilty of a few of those comments themselves. They say similar things to me. :)

  4. Children say it like it is. My son told me that they were stumped about something and their six year old said 'Call Nana. She's been around a loooong time and she'll know the answer.'
