cherries

Sweet Cozette

We've been doing alot of "cherrying" around here. Being the good mother that she is, Lia brought the kids over to pick cherries yesterday. The children have been watching them for a month , ....waiting.....They all picked but Annika was the most enthusiastic and she pulled Jon and James with her. When Lia was ready to leave yesterday Maddy frantically ran up and said Jon was stuck up in the tree. Sure enough he'd climbed up the ladder, got onto a branch (not a large one) and then couldn't get down. Poor guy! (where was I with the camera?)
I was worn out and laid on the couch most of the day chatting with Lia and Becky.Very nice, and laid back. I'm reading a book called "The Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society" by Mary Ann Shaffer (I recommend) and since its a series of letters we started talking about the lost art of letter writing. As a young mother I remember sometimes setting aside a whole day to catch up on letter writing. It was way beyond our budget to make many long distant phone calls so that was our only way of communication. So, I'm determined to start writing letters again. Sunday's would be a good day for that. Lucky Lia's got a typewriter she got at a garage sale. Hand written is nice.
Well, have a wonderful summer day! Love you all!
