one of my favorite ten things to do.....

Singing Christmas carols at church is under my ten favorite things to do.All year I look forward to it.Jim and I both love to sing the carols and what better place then in church where no one can tell if its you that blasted the wrong note out. I loved it today. ....the simple things....
I'm so thank-ful today for my manly man. We were talking this morning about how Jim asked me to marry him. He was on his mission in Italy(and probly shouldn't have been thinking about such things)when he wrote me with a list of 12 reasons why he thought I'd make a good wife.(seriously he didn't know me that well, so he must have been inspired).I'm glad family was so important to him even when he was 19 that he was worried about marrying someone who would make a good mother for his children.And I'm thank-ful that he thought I'd make a good mother.(it always was all that I wanted to do). How blessed I am to have someone who cares so much about his family and myself. He claims that I have brought him all the happiness in his life.(I'm fine with that!)(Fortunatly he dosn't talk about all the pain I'v caused him) But, I guess that's part of the picture. .....thanks honey.

 I've always had a bird feeder, for years now. They bring alot of joy to me, nature so up close and personal. Now that we don't have any pets, we've loved having our bird feeders up again. We have this one tree out back and we have a little of everything for them. A little bird bath, three feeders and a suet feeder. There's usually ten to twenty birds in the tree at all times. Lots of beautiful finches, lots of yard birds, lots of black birds (who are quite noisy) red wing black birds and yellow headed black birds. We finally identified one that we couldn't figure out and its a Evening Grosbeak. Some come and we never see them again, just passing through. But, it's our little obsession right now, gives me something to do every morning. But, dang those birds are eating us out of house and home!

oh honey you shouldn't have

 chop, chop, chop were the sounds I woke up too yesterday. I've been hearing those sounds alot these last few weeks as my manly man has made hot sauce and salsa galore. But..............this morning it was different. I woke up to a beautiful bowl of tabbouleh...my favorite salad. The combination of the bulgar, parsley, cucumber and tomatoes just tickles my palet. My favorite part this time of the year are the pomegranate seeds, they add such color and flavor.(I really shouldn't be eating it but I chewed extra well ummm) Oooops a jar of grape juice just broke, manly man is canning....be right back. O.K. that's cleaned up and I'm heading out for a long overdue walk. It's a lovely day, blue skies and sun.

all is well

My daughter Becky should be home from the hospital soon, her surgery went well. Next the mourning for what was and will never be again, she had a lot of good cries last night. They weighed the breast and it was seven and a half pounds! I knew it was close to ten. Like she said jokingly she was looking forward to getting "alot off her chest". When I talked to her on the phone this morning I asked her how in the world did she ever get anything done with a two year old and 5mon. old! I did manage to get us all clean and fed by eleven. Is that good? And to think I raised six! Todays is Becky's Abbie's birthday, we hope to go to the movies this afternoon. I guess on the way home from the hospital they are picking up a new kitty for the children. They had promised them one when they moved in to their house, so how wonderful of them to realize what a good time it would be to bring one home.
