post valentines day

Who would have known that after a fun time at Cozy's Valentine Party
and fun at the park with James and Cozy
that they'd all be sick today.
Sister Annika was home yesterday sick just lying on the
couch with fever, cough, horrible head ache.
This morning three more people had it and James
was the first to throw up.
I remember when I was raising my children it seemed there was always someone sick.
 
Oh, yes I'm in Maryland hanging out with Mamma Lia and the
holligans!
 
 
 
Cozy at her dear pre-school. They have a pre-school at the local
Highschool that the kids run. Cozy loves it, it's just
perfect for her (and cheap).
 
 

 
It was a beautiful day yesterday! Nippy, but the sun
was shinning and the sky was blue! (I've been more used
to gray) I sat at the park on a bench and just
soaked up the sun.....felt wonderful!

 
That daughter of mine is a very busy girl. It makes me
tired just watching her (especially because I know how late
she stays up!)
 
It's been fun hanging out with kids, I love listening to everything
they have to tell me. 
 
Well, you know Cozy's sick when she crawls up and
takes a nap next to you.
 
So hoping not to get it!

    Children and germs are the greatest of friends. I sometimes wonder if they don't keep a few in a jam jar, just to share around with their friends. Hope they're all well again!

    Our Maddie had the stomach flu a few weeks ago and when I was talking to her, she said, "Mimi, I don't think I'll ever feel better!" Oh, how my heart ached, but I knew she'd get better and be bouncing around again (she's our Tigger!!). Sending good wishes that everyone will be back to themselves again, XOXO

 I've always had a bird feeder, for years now. They bring alot of joy to me, nature so up close and personal. Now that we don't have any pets, we've loved having our bird feeders up again. We have this one tree out back and we have a little of everything for them. A little bird bath, three feeders and a suet feeder. There's usually ten to twenty birds in the tree at all times. Lots of beautiful finches, lots of yard birds, lots of black birds (who are quite noisy) red wing black birds and yellow headed black birds. We finally identified one that we couldn't figure out and its a Evening Grosbeak. Some come and we never see them again, just passing through. But, it's our little obsession right now, gives me something to do every morning. But, dang those birds are eating us out of house and home!

oh honey you shouldn't have

 chop, chop, chop were the sounds I woke up too yesterday. I've been hearing those sounds alot these last few weeks as my manly man has made hot sauce and salsa galore. But..............this morning it was different. I woke up to a beautiful bowl of tabbouleh...my favorite salad. The combination of the bulgar, parsley, cucumber and tomatoes just tickles my palet. My favorite part this time of the year are the pomegranate seeds, they add such color and flavor.(I really shouldn't be eating it but I chewed extra well ummm) Oooops a jar of grape juice just broke, manly man is canning....be right back. O.K. that's cleaned up and I'm heading out for a long overdue walk. It's a lovely day, blue skies and sun.

all is well

My daughter Becky should be home from the hospital soon, her surgery went well. Next the mourning for what was and will never be again, she had a lot of good cries last night. They weighed the breast and it was seven and a half pounds! I knew it was close to ten. Like she said jokingly she was looking forward to getting "alot off her chest". When I talked to her on the phone this morning I asked her how in the world did she ever get anything done with a two year old and 5mon. old! I did manage to get us all clean and fed by eleven. Is that good? And to think I raised six! Todays is Becky's Abbie's birthday, we hope to go to the movies this afternoon. I guess on the way home from the hospital they are picking up a new kitty for the children. They had promised them one when they moved in to their house, so how wonderful of them to realize what a good time it would be to bring one home.
