RIP Mr. Buttercup



After visiting grandchildren in Oregon we arrived home
late Saturday evening. Mr. Buttercup was
no where to be found.
The next morning after talking to our neighbor girl
that was watching the animals she said she
hadn't seen Mr. Buttercup for a couple
days. We walked the neighborhood and
talked to people and no one had seen her.
My Manly Man said she'd found someone with better
cat food than we had. But, I knew if she could come home she
would. This morning Jim called me and said Mr.
Buttercup was in the garage. I hurried down and found him
very hurt. I scooped him up in a towel , grabbed my purse and
headed for the vet.
 
 
As he lay on the vets table I scratched his favorite spots and
said comforting things in his ear. He calmed
down and started purring so loud that they couldn't
even here his heart. I knew he was just happy to be together.
Who knows what he endured at the hands of an animal and how long til he felt well enough to drag himself home.
The vet called us a few hours later and told us alot of bad news and we asked them to put him out of his misery.
Jim picked him up and we buried him in the garden this afternoon.
 
 
 
Mr. Buttercup was given to me after Becky
died and I'd come home after taking
care of Becky's children. I was so depressed and Mr. Buttercup was
such a comfort to me.
I'm so thank-ful he made it home so I could comfort him
and say good-by.
 
Thank-you Buttercup, you'll be missed.

    The loss of our animals is terrible. If only they knew how much they affect our lives. RIP.

    Thanks so much. Miss buzz saw is really visably sad.We made sure she saw Buttercup before we buried him.they were so close. Shes expecting kittens in four weeks that ll be a nice distraction.

 I've always had a bird feeder, for years now. They bring alot of joy to me, nature so up close and personal. Now that we don't have any pets, we've loved having our bird feeders up again. We have this one tree out back and we have a little of everything for them. A little bird bath, three feeders and a suet feeder. There's usually ten to twenty birds in the tree at all times. Lots of beautiful finches, lots of yard birds, lots of black birds (who are quite noisy) red wing black birds and yellow headed black birds. We finally identified one that we couldn't figure out and its a Evening Grosbeak. Some come and we never see them again, just passing through. But, it's our little obsession right now, gives me something to do every morning. But, dang those birds are eating us out of house and home!

oh honey you shouldn't have

 chop, chop, chop were the sounds I woke up too yesterday. I've been hearing those sounds alot these last few weeks as my manly man has made hot sauce and salsa galore. But..............this morning it was different. I woke up to a beautiful bowl of tabbouleh...my favorite salad. The combination of the bulgar, parsley, cucumber and tomatoes just tickles my palet. My favorite part this time of the year are the pomegranate seeds, they add such color and flavor.(I really shouldn't be eating it but I chewed extra well ummm) Oooops a jar of grape juice just broke, manly man is canning....be right back. O.K. that's cleaned up and I'm heading out for a long overdue walk. It's a lovely day, blue skies and sun.

all is well

My daughter Becky should be home from the hospital soon, her surgery went well. Next the mourning for what was and will never be again, she had a lot of good cries last night. They weighed the breast and it was seven and a half pounds! I knew it was close to ten. Like she said jokingly she was looking forward to getting "alot off her chest". When I talked to her on the phone this morning I asked her how in the world did she ever get anything done with a two year old and 5mon. old! I did manage to get us all clean and fed by eleven. Is that good? And to think I raised six! Todays is Becky's Abbie's birthday, we hope to go to the movies this afternoon. I guess on the way home from the hospital they are picking up a new kitty for the children. They had promised them one when they moved in to their house, so how wonderful of them to realize what a good time it would be to bring one home.
